Rachmaninoff @ 150: Songs and Romances
Aleksey Bogdanov & Megan moore

Clarion continues its celebration of Rachmaninoff's 150th anniversary with a presentation of the composer's rarely-heard songs and romances. Renowned baritone Aleksey Bogdanov, mezzo-soprano Megan Moore, and pianists Craig Ketter and Brian Zeger perform Sergei Rachmaninoff's vocal works, together with piano music for four hands from Rachmaninoff's Opus 11. Having recently performed the role of Shchelkalov in Boris Godunov at the Metropolitan Opera, Bogdanov is a specialist in the works of Mussorgsky and Rachmaninoff. He recently sang the poignant baritone role in Rachmaninoff's The Bells with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Steven Fox. In a Clarion presentation this November 7th, Bogdanov and outstanding mezzo-soprano Megan Moore will perform Rachmaninoff's songs in the intimate, acoustically stellar Park Avenue Christian Church in New York City.
